Why it is necessary to colonize Mars ?



Well humans interest towards Mars is not new once it was believed that there were canals and martins(natives of mars,people of mars) on Mars but however that was a misconception but in the year of 1952 Dr Wernher Von Braun published a science fiction book Das Marsprojekt about a manned mission to the planet Mars with a provisional launch date of 1965 however by the 1969 humans have only reached the moon but the interest towards mars never died and the with the advancements in the technology we now know better about Mars and now we have set plans to colonize the planet Mars.But why is colonization necessary ?







 Well because it may serve as a backup planet for example if there is any natural disaster on the planet earth for example a huge meteoroid hitting the planet of earth then if we have technology for interplanetary travel plus another colonized planet other than earth then mankind can save itself from dying and can exist forever.

 But why Mars ? Well Mars has a lot of similarities like earth, it has seasons,volcanos,canyons,water trapped in polar ice caps,it's soil also contains many similar nutrients like earth and also water in the soils of Mars, Soils of mars contains 2% water by weight, and in the year 2016 NASA reported that Utopia Plantia region of Mars contains a large amount of underground ice equivalent to the volume of water in Lake Superior and it's close to earth so mars would serve as a backup planet for sure and then we may have at least one million humans living on Mars possibly by the end of the century if proposed mars manned missions gets success.
